Belarusian Children Discover Uzbekistan’s Culture and Modern Life

• 150MINSK, October 10. /Dunyo IA/. The October issue of the Belarusian children’s and youth magazine “Kacheli” features a series of articles on cultural ties and friendship between Uzbekistan and Belarus, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The publications introduce young readers to Uzbek culture, the historic cities of Samarkand and Bukhara, and the country’s literary heritage.
The magazine covers three main topics: the melon festival held in Minsk and other cultural events, the works of Uzbek poets and writers, and accounts by Belarusian schoolchildren and young people of their travels across Uzbekistan.
Particular attention is given to the melon festival organized with the participation of Uzbekistan’s diplomatic mission in Minsk. Readers learn about Uzbek melons, national sweets and the country’s traditions of hospitality.
The articles also highlight the lives and works of prominent figures in Uzbek literature, aiming to foster young Belarusian readers’ interest in Eastern poetry and prose.
A separate series of stories focuses on trips by Belarusian schoolchildren and young people to Uzbekistan. The accounts describe the sights of Samarkand and Bukhara, the country’s climate, and their impressions of meeting new friends.
