PRAGUE, September 1. /Dunyo IA/. Czech investors plan a major water treatment project in Uzbekistan’s Jizzakh region, including desalination, wastewater treatment and fertilizer production, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The project was discussed during a meeting at the Embassy of Uzbekistan with Karel Šimák, Chairman of “I.K.S group a.s.”, and his partners.

As part of the project, a joint venture, “Luxe Shedevr Garden LLC”, has been established with the participation of a local entrepreneur. At the initial stage, a water treatment facility is planned to be built in Arnasay district. Preliminary investment is estimated at around €200 million, with the final amount to be determined after the facility’s capacity and technical parameters are clarified.

The Czech side presented the “ARBOK Water Desalination & Brine Utilization Technology”, designed to purify and desalinate water, including saline water, as well as process the concentrated brine generated during treatment.

Before introducing the technology in Uzbekistan, the project initiators plan to test a laboratory prototype and verify the results at independent accredited laboratories.

The project is expected to be financed primarily through foreign investment, including funds from the consortium of “I.K.S group a.s.” and its partners.

The main negotiations are currently being held with the Jizzakh regional administration. The next stage will involve determining water demand, the required capacity of the treatment facilities and other technical requirements, after which the final investment amount and financial model will be developed.
