“El Mundo Financiero”: Women’s Role in Uzbekistan’s Public and Political Life Continues to Grow

MADRID, June 20. /Dunyo IA/. Uzbekistan continues to implement reforms aimed at ensuring gender equality, protecting women’s rights, and expanding opportunities for women, according to the Spanish, reports Dunyo IA correspondent, citing “El Mundo Financiero”.

The publication notes that more than 100 legal and regulatory acts have been adopted in recent years to support women and strengthen the institution of the family.

As part of the Gender Equality Strategy of Uzbekistan through 2030, measures are being implemented to increase women's social and political participation, as well as to promote education, employment, and entrepreneurship.

“Today, women hold 35% of leadership positions, account for 45% of entrepreneurs, and make up 53% of higher education students,” “El Mundo Financiero” reports.

Particular attention is being given to protecting women from harassment and violence, developing targeted support systems, and creating conditions for the full realization of their rights and opportunities.
