“The Ariananews”: Joint Uzbek-Afghan Light Industry Exhibition Held in Termez

KABUL, September 17. /Dunyo IA/. “The Ariananews” news agency has published an article discussing the development of partnership between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan in the light industry sector, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
According to the publication, the first joint Uzbek-Afghan exhibition of light industry products opened on September 15 at the International Trade Center in Termez. The event brought together representatives of government agencies, diplomats and private-sector representatives from Uzbekistan and Afghanistan.
The exhibition features Afghan carpets, saffron, precious and semi-precious stones, handicrafts, dried fruits, clothing and other products.
Afghanistan’s Minister of Industry and Commerce Nooruddin Azizi emphasized the need for the two countries to move beyond traditional trade by expanding joint production, investment, supply chains and exports.
He particularly highlighted Afghanistan’s potential in carpet manufacturing, textiles and garments, leather goods, food processing and agricultural production.
According to the publication, Afghan entrepreneurs view Uzbekistan as a key source of production capabilities, technologies, engineering solutions and access to regional markets.
The organizers also emphasized the importance of business-to-business (B2B) meetings, noting that the exhibition would help facilitate trade contracts, establish investment partnerships and expand production capacities.
As part of the event, Afghanistan’s Ghazanfar Bank and the Uzbek Republican Commodity Exchange (UZEX) signed a cooperation agreement aimed at facilitating trade procedures.
