SYDNEY, February 20. /Dunyo IA/. The Uzbekistan women’s national football team has arrived in Australia to compete in the final stage of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

At Sydney International Airport, the team was warmly welcomed by members of the Uzbek diaspora living in Australia. Community representatives expressed their support and wished the players success in the competition.

Uzbekistan’s women footballers will face China, North Korea and Bangladesh in the group stage, with the aim of advancing to the next round of the tournament.

This edition of the competition also serves as the first stage of the Asian qualifiers for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027, as well as the football tournament at the 2028 Summer Olympic Games.

Uzbekistan is set to host the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2029, marking the first time the country will welcome the continent’s premier women’s football championship.
