SAMARKAND, October 22. /Dunyo IA/.  Establishment of the Global Network to Support Children with Severe Illnesses has been announced in Samarkand, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Announcement was made today by Carlos Rodriguez-Galindo, Vice President of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Director of St. Jude Global (USA).

Global Network will unite first ladies and spouses of heads of state for international cooperation and knowledge sharing to support children with severe and life-threatening illnesses, including cancer.

First Lady of Uzbekistan Ziroat Mirziyoyeva, has assumed the chairmanship of the Global Network for a two-year term. The inauguration ceremony took place within the framework of the International Congress on Childhood Cancer.

This decision reflects the recognition of Uzbekistan's achievements in the development of pediatric oncology services, as well as the active and leading role of Ziroat Mirziyoyeva in supporting children with oncological diseases, ensuring their access to quality medical care, and creating conditions for a child's growth and development, regardless of life circumstances.
