CAIRO, October 22. /Dunyo IA/.  Egypt’s “Al-Youm Al-Sabea” (Youm7) newspaper has published articles on the opening of the World Summit “Investing in Children’s Well-being: A Path Towards Sustainable and Equitable Development for Future Generations” in Samarkand, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to one of the articles, Ziroat Mirziyoyeva, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the “Zamin” International Public Foundation, is participating in the summit and is scheduled to deliver an address. The two-day summit has brought together representatives from more than 100 countries, including Egypt, as well as international experts and healthcare professionals.

Another article reports that Egypt is represented by Dr Sahar Al-Sunbati, President of the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood. The summit also brings together representatives of the United Nations, the World Health Organization, the International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP) and the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO). The discussions focus primarily on investment in children’s healthcare, education, social protection and safety.

In addition, newspaper published an interview with Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Egypt, Mansurbek Kilichev. He noted that Egypt’s participation reflects its leadership’s commitment to protecting children and the family, while creating opportunities for the two countries to exchange expertise in childcare, social protection, healthcare, education and the treatment of childhood cancer. The ambassador identified early diagnosis of childhood cancer, the development of inclusive education and the training of child protection specialists as potential areas of cooperation.

According to Mansurbek Kilichev, the summit should be viewed not as a one-off event, but as a starting point for more systematic cooperation between institutions in the two countries. He identified the adoption of the Samarkand Declaration on Investing in Children’s Well-being as one of the expected outcomes. The declaration aims to translate political commitments into practical, measurable action. By hosting the summit, the diplomat emphasised, Uzbekistan is reaffirming a fundamental principle: spending on children is not merely a social expenditure, but a strategic investment in human capital, stability and peace.
