ISTANBUL, January 4. /Dunyo IA/. Binali Yıldırım, Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), has congratulated the people and leadership of Uzbekistan on the New Year 2026 in an interview with Dunyo Information Agency:
-We have entered a new year and welcomed 2026. On this occasion, I would like to wish the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the entire brotherly Uzbek people peace, stability, well-being, and prosperity. I convey to you warm greetings and deep respect from your 85 million brothers and sisters in Türkiye.
He noted that over the past nine years, guided by the overarching vision of the New Uzbekistan, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has carried out profound and systemic reforms. One of the earliest and most visible steps was the liberalization of the currency exchange regime. In the medium and long term, this well-calculated decision has yielded tangible results, including sustained economic growth, increased investment volumes, a growing number of global investors, and a significant rise in the inflow of visitors and tourists.
Yıldırım emphasized that he has been visiting Uzbekistan regularly since 2017 and that each visit allows him to personally observe the rapid changes taking place across the country. “Annual foreign investment volumes have reached tens of billions of dollars. This means more jobs, the inflow of modern technologies into the economy, and, ultimately, stable economic growth and improved living standards for the population,” he said.
According to him, Uzbekistan possesses exceptionally strong development potential. He expressed confidence that with the continued and consistent implementation of reforms, the country will successfully realize this potential in the years ahead.
-Within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States, Uzbekistan currently demonstrates the highest population growth rates. “Human capital is the most valuable asset. Material resources may be depleted over time, but human potential remains inexhaustible. In this regard, Uzbekistan’s contribution to the development of the Turkic world is clearly evident. As long as Uzbekistan remains an integral part of the Turkic space, our shared movement toward the future will be confident and progressive.
On behalf of the Turkic world, and as Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States, I express my deep appreciation for the ideas and initiatives put forward by the respected President.
Long live Uzbekistan.
Long live the Turkic states and the brotherhood of the Turkic world.
