ТАSHKENT, September 11. /Dunyo IA/.  Today, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected progress on the construction of the National Museum of Uzbekistan in central Tashkent, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the press service of the Head of our State, this major project is being implemented in accordance with the Presidential Decree of July 1st, 2025. Last August, the Head of State laid the foundation stone for the museum.

President inspected the large-scale construction and installation work underway at the site, including foundation work and the development of engineering infrastructure. He noted that the complex will become an important cultural space showcasing the country’s rich history and culture, as well as the goals and aspirations of the people.

Museum will occupy a 3.9-hectare site, with a total floor area of more than 40,000 square meters. The complex will comprise a three-story main building and a two-level underground section.

Sixty percent of the museum’s space will be allocated to educational and research activities. It will house exhibition halls, an extensive library, restoration laboratories, and conference halls. Restaurants and children’s playgrounds will also be available for families and young visitors.

Museum will be able to accommodate up to 3,500 visitors at a time and display around 10,000 historical and artistic exhibits.

Once completed, the building will form a unified architectural ensemble with the Abulkasim Madrasah, the Peoples’ Friendship Palace and the National Park.

Cooperation will be established with leading cultural institutions around the world, including the Louvre in France, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the United States, and the British Museum, to organize joint exhibitions.
