BERLIN, September 11. /Dunyo IA/.  German newspaper “Berliner Zeitung” has published an analytical article by Abror Yusupov, Leading Research Fellow at the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies, titled “From Rigid Centralization in the Past to Openness and Diversification”, dedicated to the 35^th Anniversary of the Independence of Uzbekistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Publication notes that Uzbekistan has completed the initial institutional stage of development and moved to a new model based on openness, economic diversification and investment in human capital. Over the past decade, “tectonic shifts” have taken place in public administration, while the new generation of citizens born during the years of independence has played a key role in modernization, digitalization and the introduction of high technologies. The article emphasizes that Uzbekistan has formed a “belt of prosperity” around itself in Central Asia, transforming the region into a space for dialogue and integration.

Publication cites specific indicators of the country's economic growth: in 2025, Uzbekistan’s GDP grew by 7.7% and exceeded 145 billion dollars, which is nearly 10 times higher than the figure for 1991. For 2026, international financial institutions (the World Bank, IMF and ADB) project economic growth within the range of 6.4–6.8%. Furthermore, in June 2026, Moody's upgraded the republic's sovereign credit rating from “Ba3” to “Ba2” with a “stable” outlook, while “Fitch Ratings” positively assessed the growth of international reserves and the reduction in the level of dollarization.

In conclusion, the publication notes that at this new stage, Uzbekistan's progress will be determined not by the volume of natural resources, but by its capacity to generate innovations, increase labor productivity and adapt to global challenges, including the efficient utilization of water resources and integration into the global economy.
