SEOUL, August 5. /Dunyo IA/.  Electronic edition of the South Korean newspaper “Simin Haengjeong Shinmun” (Citizenadmnews.co.kr) published an article dedicated to the development of cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Publication notes that culture is one of the most effective tools for bringing peoples closer together, strengthening mutual understanding, and fostering an atmosphere of trust between states. The authors emphasize that it is precisely through cultural exchange that the historical heritage, spiritual values and creative potential of each nation are revealed.

Special attention is paid to the fact that, owing to the open and mutually beneficial foreign policy of Uzbekistan, the country's international cultural ties have received significant development in recent years. The important role of cultural diplomacy as one of the priority areas of the republic's foreign policy is highlighted.

Author of the publication notes that cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States in the fields of culture, education, science and the preservation of historical and cultural heritage is consistently expanding. Since 2017, bilateral ties have received a new impetus, with concerts and master classes featuring American conductors, musicians and professors being held in Tashkent, while representatives of educational institutions from both countries have begun developing academic exchanges.

Significance of educational projects is noted separately. Examples include master classes conducted by professors from the College of Music at Michigan State University at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan, as well as the cooperation established between Republican Specialized Music School named after R.M.Glier and “Bemidji” State University in the State of Minnesota.

According to the author of the publication, in recent years, cultural cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States has moved beyond individual festivals and concerts, encompassing fields such as education, restoration, folk applied arts, national dance, the art of maqom and the development of creative industries.

Article emphasizes that culture today is not only a spiritual value but also an important factor in economic development. Cinema, music, tourism, craftsmanship, and international cultural projects create new opportunities for strengthening ties between countries and peoples.

Special attention is paid to the participation of American representatives in Uzbekistan's international cultural events, including the Bakhshi, “Lazgi”, Handicrafts and Maqom Art festivals. It is noted that such initiatives contribute to the popularization of the country's rich intangible heritage on the world stage.
