SAMARKAND, October 21. /Dunyo IA/. Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement of Myanmar, Dr. Thant Zaw Lwin, in an interview with Dunyo IA, commented on the conditions created in Uzbekistan to support children with disabilities, their education and comprehensive development.
“Worldwide, children, as creators of the future and continuers of the next generation's legacy, are the greatest asset of every country. Therefore, their all-round development, access to quality education and upbringing constitute one of the most critical tasks of states”, he noted.
According to him, within the framework of the World Summit “Investing in Children's Well-being: Path to Sustainable and Equitable Development of Future Generations” held in Samarkand, he visited a state multidisciplinary specialized preschool educational organization, under which the “Imkon” rehabilitation center operates. “The conditions created here made a great impression on me. The activities of the institution are meticulously planned, and the educational and rehabilitation processes are structured systematically”, Deputy Minister said.
He drew attention to the high level of training of specialists and trainers, the equipping of specialized rooms with the necessary equipment, and their adaptation to the needs of children with disabilities. Methods of education and upbringing applied, as well as the organization of preschool education, allowed him, according to his words, to closely familiarize himself with the practical experience of Uzbekistan in this field.
“Such institutions are important not only for the education and development of children, but also for their active participation in the life of society. Our common goal is to unlock the potential of every child, develop their abilities, and create the necessary conditions for a decent life”, Thant Zaw Lwin emphasized.
Visit served as an important opportunity for the exchange of experience in the field of social protection, particularly in supporting vulnerable strata of the population and children with disabilities. He expressed confidence that such contacts would contribute to the development of cooperation between the relevant organizations of the two countries.
Deputy Minister recalled that friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Myanmar have been consistently developing since 2002. “I am convinced that there are sufficient opportunities for strengthening relations and expanding cooperation in directions that serve social protection and human interests. Through dialogue and the exchange of experience, we will elevate our friendly relations to a new stage”, he concluded.
