Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan discuss Workforce Training for the European Labour Market

AKTAU, November 7. /Dunyo IA/.   At the initiative of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Aktau, a meeting was held between representatives of the Vocational Education Agency of Uzbekistan and the leadership of the “APEC Training Center” in the city of Atyrau, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Main purpose of the meeting was to discuss practical measures to implement the tasks set by the Head of State, in particular, training citizens in high-demand professions with high wage levels.

Parties reviewed opportunities for vocational training of citizens, upgrading their qualifications, certification in accordance with international standards and subsequent employment of trained specialists in the European labour market.

Representatives of the “APEC Training Center” noted that the center has experience in training specialists across nearly 300 fields. Training is organized taking into account the requirements of international and major European companies, in connection with which the Kazakh side expressed interest in developing cooperation with Uzbekistan.

Special attention was paid to the demand for Uzbek skilled workers from the training center's partners in Poland. According to the “APEC Training Center”, Polish companies are interested in attracting specialists not only from Kazakhstan, but also from Uzbekistan.

Furthermore, the training center proposed considering the possibility of sending highly qualified instructors and specialists to Uzbekistan to organize vocational training taking into account the requirements of the Vocational Education Agency.

For their part, representatives of the Agency noted that active work is already underway in the country to train citizens in high-demand professions. Following the negotiations, an agreement was reached on developing a joint practical vocational training program.

Parties also agreed to organize a follow-up visit by representatives of the “APEC Training Center” to Uzbekistan to work out areas of cooperation based on the Agency's proposals.

Another topic of the meeting was the development of ties between vocational educational institutions of the two countries. “APEC Training Center” reported on the interest of Kazakh colleges in establishing contacts with Uzbek educational institutions and requested assistance in establishing cooperation between the Rudny Mining and Technological College and specialized educational institutions of Uzbekistan in the mining industry.

Following the meeting, representatives of the Vocational Education Agency, “APEC Training Center”, and the Consulate General agreed to establish a joint working group that will engage in the practical elaboration of the proposed initiatives.
