LONDON, October 28. /Dunyo IA/.   A delegation from the General Prosecutor's Office and the Law Enforcement Academy of Uzbekistan held talks in the United Kingdom with representatives of state bodies, the judiciary, and higher educational institutions of the country, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Meetings were organized with representatives of the North West Counter Terrorism Policing, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), Manchester Crown Court and a number of specialized organizations. Delegation studied counter-terrorism issues, the organizational foundations of the investigative and judicial systems, as well as law enforcement practice. Development of international cooperation, exchange of experience and expansion of areas of mutually beneficial interaction were discussed.

Particular attention during the program of the visit was paid to the support of witnesses and victims: the operation of systems providing them with practical and psychological assistance was studied.

One of the key dimensions of the visit was cooperation in the field of personnel training and education for law enforcement agencies. Academic exchange of experience, educational and research activities, and prospects for cooperation were discussed with representatives of the University of Salford, the University of East London, and the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Delegation familiarized itself with the process of training specialists for law enforcement agencies, specialized training facilities for conducting investigative actions, and virtual simulation programs.

Meetings held within the framework of the visit established opportunities for developing cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United Kingdom in exchanging law enforcement experience, studying prosecutorial and judicial practices, improving the witness and victim support system and introducing modern educational technologies.
