BRAUNSCHWEIG, August 13. /Dunyo IA/.  In the federal state of Baden-Württemberg, Germany, “Uzbek Cuisine and Culture” Festival was held for the seventh time, gathering around 200 compatriots, representatives of German business circles and the public, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Event was organized by diplomats of Uzbekistan and compatriots Evgeny and Yulia Shatts. The festival has become one of the major traditional platforms for meetings of the Uzbek diaspora in Europe.

Main focus was placed on promoting the tourism potential and cultural heritage of Uzbekistan, as well as strengthening ties among compatriots. The guests had the opportunity to witness the preparation of somsa and tandoor meat, taste palov, shurpa and other national dishes, and participate in a master class on cooking Uzbek palov.

Within the framework of the festival, exhibitions of national clothing, applied arts and crafts, and paintings dedicated to the culture and lifestyle of Uzbekistan were held. The guests also took part in national games and got acquainted with Uzbek dances and songs.

A dedicated information stand was focused on the tourism opportunities of Uzbekistan. Visitors were provided with materials on tourist routes, air connectivity, guide services and travel to Uzbekistan.

Speaking at the event, representatives of the Embassy noted the significance of the festival in strengthening the atmosphere of mutual understanding, as well as interethnic friendship and harmony among compatriots.

Also within the framework of the event, the participants were provided with information on the reforms carried out by the government in various fields. Our compatriots had the opportunity to receive answers to questions of interest to them directly from diplomats.

Co-organizers Evgeny and Yulia Shatts noted that the festival contributes to cultural exchange, strengthening friendship between peoples, and promoting the tourism potential of Uzbekistan in Germany.

“We live in Germany, but every year on this day of the festival, we feel as if we are in our Homeland, Evgeny and Yulia Shatts say. - The initiative we started with the support of our Embassy resonates today in other European cities as well and representatives of various nationalities now gather at our table.

Guests often tell us the same thing: having tasted your dishes, we want to see this country with our own eyes. Therefore, we organize trips to Uzbekistan every year. Last year, we introduced foreign tourists to new tourist destinations and organized a trip to the beautiful and unique cities of our country. Every year, we prepare new interesting routes for travelers”.
