Uzbekistan national team wins three medals at international “Aba Güreşi” tournament in Türkiye

• 19ANKARA, August 12. /Dunyo IA/. International traditional “Aba Güreşi” wrestling competitions were held in the Yayladağı district of Hatay province, Türkiye, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Competitions were organized in cooperation with the World Foundation of Turkic World Youth, Traditional Wrestling Federation of Türkiye, Metropolitan Municipality of Hatay and the Municipality of Yayladağı with the support of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).
Wrestlers from the national teams of the OTS member states and observer countries, including Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Türkiye, participated in the competitions. The ambassadors of the organization's member states to Türkiye, as well as the Chairman of the OTS Council of Elders, Binali Yıldırım, attended the event as guests of honour.
National team of Uzbekistan, comprising 9 athletes, performed worthily at the competitions and took 2nd place in the overall team standings among the participating countries.
In individual competitions, the athletes of the Uzbekistan national team also demonstrated high results. Anvar Eshpulatov won a gold medal in the weight category up to 55 kg, Kuvonchbek Sadinov became a bronze medallist in the weight category up to 60 kg, and Sardorbek Abdurakhmanov took third place in the weight category up to 85 kg.
Achieved results are of particular importance and serve as a bright testament to the effectiveness of successive reforms carried out in our country for the development of national sports, particularly wrestling, supporting athletes and creating decent conditions for them.
Winner and medallists of the competitions dedicated their brilliant victories to the 35th Anniversary of the Independence of our Homeland and expressed their deep appreciation and gratitude to the esteemed President of Uzbekistan for the work carried out under his leadership on the development of sports and the creation of broad opportunities for domestic athletes.
