Cultural and Educational Event dedicated to the 35th Anniversary of the Independence of Uzbekistan held in Israeli City of Beer Sheva

BEER SHEVA, August 13. /Dunyo IA/.  Embassy of Uzbekistan in Israel organized a cultural and educational event dedicated to the 35th Anniversary of the Independence of Uzbekistan, bringing together compatriots conducting labour activities in Israel, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Particular attention was paid to Uzbekistan’s achievements over 35 years of Independence. Participants were informed about the wide-ranging political, socio-economic, cultural and educational transformations implemented during the years of independence, as well as the progress made in strengthening statehood, modernizing the economy, improving the well-being of the population, expanding international cooperation and enhancing Uzbekistan’s standing in the international arena.

In the second part of the event participants were briefed on measures aimed at providing social and legal support to labour migrants, ensuring safe and legal employment abroad, formalizing employment contracts, obtaining medical insurance, improving living conditions and accessing consular services.

Сompatriots received answers to questions concerning timely payment of wages, relations with employers, and assistance in emergency situations. Embassy representatives provided detailed explanations of mechanisms for protecting the rights of labour migrants and providing practical assistance when necessary. Participants were also informed about the particular attention being paid to protecting the rights and interests of Uzbek citizens residing and working abroad.

Event also featured a special cultural program and various competitions for the participants. Winners received prizes, while traditional Uzbek dishes were served to the guests.

Participants emphasized that such meetings play an important role in raising the legal awareness of labour migrants, identifying their concerns in a timely manner and facilitating effective solutions.
