35th Anniversary of Uzbekistan’s Independence Celebrated in Russia’s Omsk Region

• 144OMSK, October 1. /Dunyo IA/. The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Novosibirsk, together with compatriots, held a gala evening dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the country’s independence, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event was attended by representatives of the Omsk Region Governor’s Administration, the Omsk Mayor’s Office, regional ministries and agencies, university rectors, representatives of Central Asian countries, as well as Uzbek compatriots and students currently studying at leading universities in Omsk.
Deputy Governor of Omsk Region Andrey Shpilenko highlighted the continued development of bilateral ties between Omsk Region and Uzbekistan, particularly at the interregional level.
It was noted that Uzbekistan and Omsk Region are consistently expanding cooperation in trade, economic, industrial, and agricultural sectors, while developing technological partnerships and humanitarian ties. Over the past three years, the region’s foreign trade turnover with Uzbekistan has doubled. Uzbekistan currently ranks fourth among Omsk Region’s foreign trade partners, while significant potential remains for further growth.
Enterprises in Omsk Region and Uzbekistan are already implementing projects in industry and technological cooperation.
Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Russia Botirjon Asadov noted the current high level of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Russia, emphasizing the countries’ commitment to further strengthening trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation.
Consul General of Uzbekistan in Novosibirsk Aslam Akbarov emphasized the particular importance of independence for the country’s multinational people and highlighted Uzbekistan’s significant achievements over the past 10 years of independent development.
Particular attention was also paid to the expanding multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Omsk Region, including in the cultural and humanitarian sphere.
In their remarks, compatriots emphasized their enduring connection with their homeland and the unity of their aspirations and hopes, while expressing sincere gratitude to the country’s leadership for its care and attention to every citizen living far from their native land.
It is also noteworthy that Feruza Adasheva, head of the Public and Cultural Center of the Peoples of Uzbekistan in Omsk Region, was recently awarded the high state honor — the “Friendship of Peoples” (Дружба народов) badge.
