Around 11,000 foreign nationals arrived in Uzbekistan for educational purposes in first 7 months of the year

TASHKENT, September 12. /Dunyo IA/. According to the National Statistics Committee, as of August 1, 2025, a total of 10.7 thousand foreign citizens visited Uzbekistan for educational purposes in January-July 2025, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
In the first seven months of the current year, Uzbekistan has witnessed a significant increase in the number of foreign students coming to the country for educational purposes. The total number of international students rose by 2,000 individuals, marking a notable growth of 22.4% compared to the same period last year.
Among the countries whose citizens most often choose Uzbekistan for study, Turkmenistan leads with 3,197 students. Following closely are India (2,846), Tajikistan (1,246), China (532), and South Korea (428). Other significant contributors include Pakistan (377), the Kyrgyz Republic (286), the United States (254), Afghanistan (193), and Turkey (181). Additionally, 1,161 students arrived from other nations.
The increase in the number of international students in Uzbekistan’s universities stands as further confirmation of the effectiveness of efforts to create a modern educational environment that is attractive to young people from abroad. It also helps to strengthen academic and cultural ties with many countries around the world.
