MUSCAT, April 17. /Dunyo IA/. With the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, an online meeting was held between representatives of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis and the State Council of Oman, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The meeting was co-chaired by Erkin Gadoev, Head of the Friendship Group with Oman and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Budget and Economic Reforms and Sheikh Hilal bin Ali bin Zahir Al Hinai, Deputy Chairman of the State Council of Oman.

During the talks, the parties emphasized that bilateral relations are demonstrating steady growth dynamics in all priority areas. It was noted that mutual visits by heads of foreign ministries, as well as ministers of investment, industry and trade, have created the necessary foundation for bringing the Uzbek-Omani partnership to a qualitatively new stage of development.

Participants paid special attention to the mechanisms of parliamentary control and support for interstate agreements. In particular, the important role of the friendship group established in the Senate of Uzbekistan was emphasized. During the meeting, parties considered the possibility of forming a similar structure in the Parliament of Oman, which would enable a closer and more regular dialogue between the legislators.

At the conclusion of the conversation, the parliamentarians put forward initiatives to organize mutual visits of the leadership of the parliaments' upper chambers. The parties confirmed their mutual interest in actively utilizing existing cooperation channels and exchanging experience in legislative activities to further bring the two countries closer.
