100 Uzbek “Presidential Pilgrims” complete Hajj and return to homeland

JEDDAH, June 2. /Dunyo IA/. One hundred citizens of Uzbekistan who performed Hajj under the “Presidential Pilgrims” program have successfully completed all Hajj rituals and departed for Tashkent today from King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During their stay in Saudi Arabia, the pilgrims visited the holy cities of Medina and Mecca, participated in the standing at Arafat, performed the rituals in Muzdalifah and Mina, and completed other prescribed rites of Hajj.
At Jeddah airport, the pilgrims were seen off by representatives of Uzbekistan’s diplomatic missions in Saudi Arabia, as well as officials from the Committee on Religious Affairs and the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan involved in the Hajj mission.
Participants of the program expressed deep gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for the opportunity to perform the pilgrimage to the holy sites of Islam. They noted that the attention given to pilgrims and the conditions created allowed them to complete all religious rites in dignity and peace.
The pilgrims also wished the Head of State good health and success in ongoing reforms, and expressed hopes for continued peace, stability, and prosperity in Uzbekistan, noting that they were returning home with a sense of spiritual fulfillment after completing one of the most important journeys in a Muslim’s life.
