CAIRO, April 17. /Dunyo IA/. Diplomats of the Embassy of Uzbekistan held a meeting with compatriots studying at Al-Azhar University, reports a Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event gathered around 130 young Uzbek students enrolled in various faculties and academic programs at the university.
The meeting served as an important platform for constructive dialogue, during which a number of significant proposals were put forward. In particular, the possibility of establishing an Uzbek Students Association was discussed. The proposed association would aim to safeguard the interests of Uzbek students studying at Al-Azhar University and to enhance their rights, opportunities, and mutual solidarity.
During the dialogue, participants addressed key issues concerning student life, challenges in the academic process, day-to-day matters, documentation-related concerns, and opportunities for cultural and spiritual engagement. Practical solutions and corresponding proposals to address these matters were identified.
The meeting also resulted in important decisions to strengthen regular communication between the Embassy, university leadership, and students; to support student-led initiatives; and to encourage their social, academic, and cultural involvement.
As a result of the event, initial organizational measures were outlined for the formation of the student association, with participants’ views and suggestions duly taken into account.
Such meetings serve as a meaningful step toward fostering a spirit of unity, solidarity, and patriotism among Uzbek students living and studying abroad.
