MINSK, October 31. /Dunyo IA/. The city of Samarkand has also joined the initiative launched by journalistic communities in Uzbekistan and Belarus, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
With the support of the Journalists’ Unions of Belarus and Uzbekistan, the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus, and the Embassy of Uzbekistan, a joint project has been launched to facilitate the direct exchange of media content between the Minsk-Novosti news agency and the Samarkand Vestnik media holding. As part of the cooperation, the first newspaper articles, video reports, radio podcasts, and social media content have already been presented to the public.
Meetings held within the framework of the project focused on current challenges facing the modern press, as well as arrangements for joint livestreams and multimedia programs involving experts. Minsk-based colleagues highly praised Samarkand Vestnik’s experience in promoting Samarkand’s tourism potential, publishing content simultaneously in three languages – Uzbek, Russian, and Tajik – and establishing a city press museum.
The main Uzbek partner in the project, the Samarkand Vestnik newspaper, will celebrate its 120th anniversary next year. The publication is regarded as one of the influential media outlets in the Central Asian region.
The joint project is intended to strengthen friendship and cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries, while expanding a reliable international information space.
