MINSK, September 20. /Dunyo IA/. The 11th meeting of the CIS Interstate Council on Combating Corruption was held in the capital of Belarus, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The meeting was attended by representatives of Uzbekistan, Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and the CIS Executive Committee.

Participants exchanged practical experience and discussed the recovery of illicitly obtained assets, anti-corruption assessment of legislation, digitalization and professional training.

Uzbekistan was represented at the meeting by Akmal Burkhanov, Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency. One of the key outcomes for Uzbekistan was the signing of a cooperation program with the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia for 2027–2028.

The document provides for the exchange of experience, joint use of digital tools to identify corruption risks, the development of an anti-corruption culture and educational projects. The first expert event under the program is planned to focus on digital technologies.

Particular attention was paid to professional training. The CIS Executive Committee supported consideration of granting the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan the status of a basic CIS organization for education and training in the field of combating corruption.

Uzbekistan’s international agenda in this area is also set to expand in the near future. In 2027, the country will host the 12th session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption. In Minsk, the Russian side also noted Uzbekistan’s growing contribution to the development of international cooperation in this field.

Following the meeting, the chairmanship of the Interstate Council was transferred from Armenia to Belarus, and the Council’s work plan for 2027 was approved.
