KREMS, September 21. /Dunyo IA/.  Uzbek diplomats in Austria held meetings with Harald Leiter, Manager of the “Technopol Krems” Technology Center and Alexandra Hartmann, Head of the Quality Management Department at “Cells + Tissuebank Austria”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

“Technopol Krems” serves as a center for technology development in the field of life sciences in Lower Austria, bringing together research and educational institutions, universities, and business entities. Among its core focus areas are regenerative medicine, oncology, diagnostics and medical technologies.

Particular attention was paid to the activities of “Cells + Tissuebank Austria”, which is engaged in the procurement, processing, and provision of human allogeneic tissues for medical application. The organization specializes, in particular, in musculoskeletal and human bone tissues, controlling the processes from donor material acquisition to the preparation and distribution of implants.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed the organization of internships and professional development for specialists, the exchange of experts, joint seminars and research, as well as the study of Austrian experience in the field of quality management and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.

Opportunities for the development of tissue banks, modern methods of processing and storing biological materials, and cooperation in the fields of medical devices, diagnostics and advanced medical technologies were considered separately.

Ministry of Health, Agency for Innovative Development, Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Traumatology and Orthopedics, medical higher education institutions, and the “Tashkent Pharma Park” pharmaceutical cluster were named as potential partners from the Uzbek side.

Parties agreed to maintain contacts and establish direct interaction between the relevant institutions of the two countries. As a next step, the sides are considering the conduct of technical consultations to prepare concrete joint projects.
