Indian Arena witnesses the completion of the next National Uzbek Kurash Tournament

DEHLI, January 17. /Dunyo IA/. The 13th National Junior Kurash Championship of India was held in Patna with a high level of organization, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The competition served as another vivid demonstration of the growing popularity of Uzbek national wrestling (Kurash) on the international stage, particularly across Asia.

National teams from 22 Indian states competed for victory in the championship. Over the course of three days, more than 670 athletes showcased their skills and technical proficiency.

The matches were officiated by 35 qualified referees in accordance with international Kurash rules. Preparation for the event involved 69 coaches, while 22 participants took part in the evaluation and refereeing process as they completed qualification exams for official referee certification.

As noted by Ravi Kapoor, Technical Director of the International Kurash Association and President of the Kurash Federation of India, the championship represents an important milestone in the systematic development of Kurash in the country, promoting the sport among young people and helping to build a strong reserve for the national team.

Today, Uzbek Kurash has become a sport without borders. The participation of over 600 young athletes in a single championship in a densely populated country like India reflects the high prestige and global recognition of this national heritage.
