TOKYO, January 28. /Dunyo IA/. A meeting was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan with Makio Yamada, Director of the International Cooperation Department of the Nagoya City Hall, during which issues related to the development of interregional cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan were discussed, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

At the beginning of the meeting, Japanese side highlighted that the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Japan in December 2025 had given a significant impetus to further expanding bilateral relations and activating cooperation in new promising areas.

In this context, Makio Yamada reported that, to develop interregional ties with Uzbekistan, a delegation from Nagoya, headed by Mayor Ichiro Hirosawa, is planning a visit to the country. It was also noted that the delegation will include members of the Nagoya City Council.

Japanese side plans to discuss issues related to the further development of cooperation established between the cities of Nagoya and Tashkent.
