"Shavkat Mirziyoyev – Architect of a New Uzbekistan" - published in Egypt


CAIRO, November 22. /Dunyo IA/. With the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Egypt, the Arabic-language book by prominent writer and Asian countries expert Ahmad Tarabek, titled "Shavkat Mirziyoyev – Builder of the New Uzbekistan", has been published, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The book provides a comprehensive overview of the political, economic, and social transformations carried out in Uzbekistan since President Shavkat Mirziyoyev assumed office in 2016.

Comprising 350 pages, the book is divided into three sections. The first section presents the personality of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the concept of the "New Uzbekistan," and the reforms that shaped Uzbekistan as a new republic. It also provides information on the duties and responsibilities of the President of Uzbekistan, the presidential institution, and its affiliated structures.

The section also covers administrative reforms in the New Uzbekistan, the "Uzbekistan–2030" strategy, the formation of civil society, political reforms, constitutional amendments suited to the new era, democratic reforms, human rights, and the development of mass media.

The second section, titled "Social Construction", discusses economic reforms, priority areas of development, sustainable development goals, progress in tourism and digital technologies, as well as investments in sectors such as industry and agriculture.

The section also highlights changes in the public service system, including the activities of public service centers, efforts to combat poverty, reforms in education and healthcare, and urban development.

This section further describes the society of the New Uzbekistan and the construction of a social state, work with youth, focus on sports, the historic qualification of the Uzbekistan national football team for the World Cup finals for the first time, and the significant achievements of Uzbek athletes at the Paris 2024 Olympics. In addition, it addresses religious reforms and the establishment of the Center of Islamic Civilization.

The third section, dedicated to the international relations of the New Uzbekistan, analyzes the country’s policy of openness and its foreign policy aimed at transforming Central Asia into a space of cooperation and peace. The section emphasizes the foreign policy of the New Uzbekistan, the role of Central Asia, and Uzbekistan’s emergence as a leading and guiding state in the region. Particular attention is given to major countries, including the European Union, the United States, Russia, Germany, the Gulf States, China, Japan, South Korea, and India, which are seeking cooperation with Central Asia.

The book also highlights Uzbekistan’s initiatives in international politics and at high-level meetings, including efforts to establish peace in Afghanistan, transform the Aral Sea region into a hub of innovation and ecological technologies, and implement a strategy for creating a Regional Connectivity Model.

The book examines Uzbekistan’s relations with international and regional organizations and its role as an active participant, including its engagement with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia, the Organization of Turkic States, the Economic Cooperation Organization, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, as well as Uzbekistan’s relations with the Arab world.

According to the author, the book "Shavkat Mirziyoyev – Builder of the New Uzbekistan" presents the modern and progressive experience of the New Uzbekistan to the Arab world and the global community. This experience represents a unique model of governance and state-building.

The book is being widely distributed among major universities and libraries in Egypt, the diplomatic corps in Cairo, and among prominent figures.

Ahmad Tarabek has published a number of books. On 3 September 2018, on the eve of the official visit of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to Tashkent, the presentation of his book "Uzbekistan: A Source of Islamic Civilization" took place.

In December 2022, Ahmad Tarabek completed his book "Uzbeks in Egypt." With the support of the Embassy, the book was published in October 2023. Comprising four chapters, "Uzbeks in Egypt" discusses the Tulunid, Ikhshidid, and Mamluk states, the legacy of Uzbeks in Egypt, Ahmad al-Farghani, the Nilometer, the Uzbek region, and their history.

Ahmad Tarabek was awarded in the 2023 "Golden Pen" International Competition in the category of "Best Material About Uzbekistan by a Foreign Journalist" for his articles and books on Uzbekistan.
