Uzbekistan delegation takes part in the next Women’s Dialogue

DUSHANBE, November 26. /Dunyo IA/. Jamila Bobanazarova, Senator of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan and Mukarram Nurmatova, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Family and Women Affairs, took part in the Dialogue of Women of Central Asia Forum on "Women, Peace and Security", held in Dushanbe from 25 to 27 November, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The forum’s core objective is to foster an effective platform for dialogue aimed at advancing the Sustainable Development Goals, enhancing women’s participation in the development of regional cooperation, and promoting the exchange of best practices while expanding collaboration in this sphere.
During the panel sessions, participants examined a range of issues, including strengthening peace and security in Central Asia through women’s leadership, existing challenges and the role of mediation, the joint efforts of women and youth engaged in peace and security initiatives, pathways toward sustainable peace, and the formal handover of the Chairmanship of the Central Asia Women’s Dialogue to the next participating country.
The forum also addressed the role of education and entrepreneurship in supporting Afghan women.
Representatives of the Uzbek delegation underscored the growing significance of the Women’s Dialogue as it is implemented through various international mechanisms.
Participants were briefed on key reforms introduced into national legislation and the political sphere aimed at strengthening women’s active engagement in public life.
The event also highlighted that the Forum held on 12 November in Tashkent, initiated by Uzbekistan under the theme "Global and Regional Approaches to Ensuring Women’s Rights and Gender Equality" marked a new era in the history of regional development.
It was emphasized that this represents a new step toward strengthening cooperation and fostering unity in pursuit of the shared strategic development goals of the region.
Participants highly commended Uzbekistan’s initiatives within the framework of the Central Asia Women’s Dialogue aimed at supporting peace and security, advancing gender equality, and strengthening its organizational and institutional mechanisms to ensure the Dialogue’s effective functioning across the entire region.
Speakers noted that Uzbekistan’s Chairmanship of the Central Asia Women’s Dialogue in 2026 will elevate the platform to a new level.
At this juncture, participants were briefed on the content of recent national legislative and political reforms initiated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev aimed at strengthening women’s active participation in public life.
During the event, it was acknowledged that the Forum held on 12 November in Tashkent, organized on the initiative of the Republic of Uzbekistan under the theme "Global and Regional Approaches to Ensuring Women’s Rights and Gender Equality" has ushered in a new era in the history of regional development.
It was emphasized that this represents a new step toward strengthening cooperation and uniting the region in pursuit of shared strategic development goals.
Participants highly commended Uzbekistan’s initiatives within this Dialogue framework to support peace and security, advance gender equality, and enhance its organizational and institutional mechanisms to ensure its effective functioning across the region.
