BUDAPEST, December 19. /Dunyo IA/. The Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Aybek Shakhavdinov met with István Jakab, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The meeting focused on the implementation of agreements reached during the official visit of the Uzbek delegation, led by Tanzila Narbayeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, to Hungary in early December 2025.

The Hungarian side highly praised the outcomes of the visit, emphasizing its importance for the further deepening of bilateral relations. It was noted that the discussions had given a new impetus to Uzbek-Hungarian cooperation, particularly in trade, economic, and parliamentary spheres.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to developing systematic and long-term cooperation between the Senate and Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan and the National Assembly of Hungary, expressing readiness to ensure consistent and practical implementation of all agreements reached.

Special attention was given to the prospects of expanding inter-parliamentary contacts. The Budapest talks served as another confirmation of the steady development of Uzbek-Hungarian relations, grounded in mutual trust, respect, and a shared commitment to practical cooperation.
