Team Uzbekistan shines bright with four new medals at the 3rd Asian Youth Games

ТASHKENT, October 21. /Dunyo IA/. As previously reported, the 3rd Asian Youth Games are currently being held in Manama, the capital of the Kingdom of Bahrain, bringing together promising young athletes from across the continent under the auspices of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Uzbek athletes delivered outstanding performances in the traditional martial art disciplines of Kurash and Pencak Silat, securing three gold medals and one bronze, further solidifying the country's position in the medal standings.
Meanwhile, in the Pencak Silat combat disciplines, Nurislam Ruziboyev clinched another gold medal, showcasing his dominance and precision in one of Southeast Asia’s most respected martial arts. Feruza Bozorova added to the national success by securing a bronze medal, earning well-deserved recognition for her efforts on the international stage.
Today, Uzbek athletes are participating in volleyball and handball programs.
As part of the ongoing handball tournament at the 3rd Asian Youth Games, the Uzbekistan girls’ national team played its second match in Group A against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Despite a competitive and spirited performance, the Uzbek team narrowly lost the match with a final score of 27–24 in favor of Iran. This result marks Iran’s second consecutive victory, allowing them to climb to first place in the Group A standings.
With one win and one loss, Team Uzbekistan currently stands in third place in the group, maintaining a strong chance to progress, depending on the outcomes of the remaining group-stage fixtures.
