MINSK, April 3. /Dunyo IA/. The Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Rahmatulla Nazarov, met with the Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Belarus, Sergey Maslyak, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the conversation, the two sides discussed accelerating bilateral cooperation in the field of ecology and environmental protection, as well as the implementation of joint activities and projects.

Minister Sergey Maslyak noted that the initiatives of the leaders of both countries to declare 2025 as the Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy in Uzbekistan and the Year of Landscaping in Belarus reflect the alignment of their goals in these areas.

The Belarusian side was informed about the reforms, state programs, regional climate strategies, important projects such as the Green University, and international initiatives being implemented in Uzbekistan in this sector.

The discussion emphasized the potential for cooperation in several promising areas, including plant protection, the widespread application of the "In-Vitro" technology for sapling cultivation, efficient use of water bodies and maintaining their cleanliness, household waste recycling, geology, and eco-tourism.

Both sides agreed that the relationship between the two countries continues to strengthen, and noted the need to update the legal and regulatory framework for cooperation in the field of ecology.

The Belarusian representative confirmed the participation of their delegation in the "Eco Expo Central Asia – 2025" international exhibition, which will be held in Tashkent, and extended an invitation for Uzbekistan to take part in the "ECOLOGY EXPO – 2025", a specialized international exhibition to be organized in Minsk from August 19-21 this year.
