New Ambassador of Uzbekistan presents credentials to the President of Estonia

TALLINN, April 20. /Dunyo IA/. On April 16, the new Ambassador of Uzbekistan with residence in Riga, Timur Rakhmanov, presented his credentials to the President of Estonia, Alar Karis, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the brief conversation following the official ceremony, the head of Estonia commended the growing trade, economic, and cultural cooperation between Estonia and Uzbekistan. He expressed keen interest in further enhancing collaboration in these areas.

President of Estonia also emphasized Uzbekistan’s significant role as a leading country in Central Asia. He highlighted the efforts of the President of Uzbekistan in fostering regional unity, including the peaceful resolution of long-standing border disputes that had previously caused tensions in the region.

President Alar Karis voiced strong support for the wide-ranging reforms being implemented under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and reaffirmed Estonia’s commitment to expanding bilateral engagement.

It is worth noting that Ambassador Timur Rakhmanov arrived in Riga on March 13, 2024. Prior to this appointment, he served as Consul General of Uzbekistan in Novosibirsk from 2021 to 2024.

As part of his diplomatic mission, Ambassador Rakhmanov presented his credentials to the President of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs on June 17, 2024, to the President of Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda, on February 11, 2025, and to the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, on April 1, 2025.
