A new ambassador of Uzbekistan arrives in Latvia

RIGA, March 13. /"Dunyo" IA/. Timur Rakhmanov, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan, has arrived in the capital of Latvia today, reports "Dunyo" IA correspondent.

He previously served as Consul General in Novosibirsk from 2021 to 2024, overseeing the consular district covering the Siberian Federal District of Russia.
Timur Rakhmanov is 46 years old. Graduated from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.
With a career spanning over two decades, Rakhmanov joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1999. He has held various positions within the ministry and served in Uzbekistan’s embassies in Poland, Italy, and Spain. Additionally, from 2017 to 2018, he served as the Deputy Khokim of the Khorezm region, focusing on investment, innovation, and economic development.
Fluent in Russian, English, Polish, and Spanish.
Timur Rakhmanov succeeds Kadambay Sultanov as the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Latvia. Sultanov held the position from 2019 to 2024, also serving part-time in Lithuania, Finland, and Estonia with residence in Riga.
