First Ambassador of Uzbekistan presents credentials to the President of Ethiopia

• 256ADDIS ABABA, June 24. /Dunyo IA/. The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Ethiopia Ashraf Khodjayev, with residence in Doha, presented his credentials to President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Taye Atske Selassie, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the conversation held as part of the credentials ceremony, the parties exchanged views on the prospects for further development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Ethiopia.
The President of Ethiopia welcomed the appointment of Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to his country and expressed confidence in the steady advancement of bilateral relations and the further expansion of practical cooperation between the two states.
The Ambassador of Uzbekistan conveyed the sincere greetings and best wishes of the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the President of Ethiopia and reaffirmed Uzbekistan’s readiness to expand mutually beneficial economic cooperation.
The leader of Ethiopia expressed appreciation to the President of Uzbekistan for his efforts to strengthen bilateral engagement and asked that his best wishes be conveyed in return.
It is worth noting that Uzbekistan and Ethiopia established diplomatic relations on July 15, 1996.
Ashraf Khodjaev has served as Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Qatar since February 2024. Since October 2025, he has also been concurrently accredited as Ambassador of Uzbekistan to South Africa.
