KUWAIT CITY, October 2. /Dunyo IA/. A delegation from Uzbekistan, comprising leading domestic producers and exporters, visited Kuwait, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

As part of the visit, negotiations were held with representatives of 15 Kuwaiti food importers and major trading companies. Discussions focused on increasing export volumes, product supplies and logistics.

Particular attention was paid to opportunities for supplying meat and frozen products, confectionery, dried fruits and legumes to the Kuwaiti market.

In particular, discussions with representatives of "Abrar Universal Group" and "Alyasra Foods" focused on the conditions for exporting meat and frozen products, including their quality, supply volumes, packaging and logistics. In addition, "World Sweets" held talks with "Zarqand" and "Krember" on the export of confectionery products.

Particular attention was also paid to facilitating the entry of Uzbek products into the Kuwaiti market during meetings with "Souq Adan", "Go Fresh", "Cozmo Central Food" and "SAF Kuwait".

Following negotiations with "Ariana Advanced General Trading", a company specializing in wholesale food trade, on the export of dried fruits, legumes and meat products, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed with "Amax Exim" LLC.

Development of e-commerce was one of the key areas of the visit. During a roundtable with representatives of "Alhafed National", parties discussed promoting and selling Uzbek products to Kuwaiti consumers through e-commerce channels.

Electronic trading platform “Yeeb” is scheduled to launch in October, and a dedicated section for Uzbek products has already been created. This will provide exporters with new opportunities to access the online market. In this regard, the gradual integration of domestic exporters into the platform and the development of product catalogues are planned.

As a practical outcome of the cooperation, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan and "Alhafed National", as well as memoranda on export cooperation with "Amax Exim" and "Chortoq Mineral Water".

Possibilities of establishing a trade house for Uzbek products in Kuwait were also explored.

Particular attention in expanding exports was paid to transport and logistics. Representatives of "Navoi" International Airport discussed the possibilities of organizing air cargo transportation with "Beyout Holding", KRH and "Sky Aviation Service Group".

In particular, parties considered the prompt delivery of perishable food and agricultural products, meat and frozen products, as well as transit and further distribution of cargo.

Business visit to Kuwait helped establish new practical mechanisms for expanding the presence of Uzbek food products in the Kuwaiti market.

Direct business contacts, signed memoranda, access to the electronic trading platform and cooperation in air cargo transportation are expected to contribute to increasing export volumes and strengthening the position of Uzbek products in the Kuwaiti market.
