WASHINGTON, August 13. /Dunyo IA/. “The Intercept” and the “Freedom of the Press Foundation” filed a federal lawsuit against U.S. President Donald Trump, seeking to block the sale of paid access to his posts on the “Truth Social” platform, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

As “Reuters” reports, the lawsuit concerns the “Truth API” service, launched by “Trump Media & Technology Group” on August 1. It provides subscribers with early access to posts from 10 high-profile “Truth Social” accounts, including the President’s account, for $60,000 to $100,000 per month.

Plaintiffs allege that the service allows paying users to receive information capable of influencing financial markets ahead of others. Donald Trump regularly uses “Truth Social” to post about tariffs, foreign policy and conflicts in the Middle East, which can affect the prices of stocks, oil and other assets.

According to the lawsuit, the President derives financial benefit from selling access to information related to his official activities. The plaintiffs argue that this violates the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and are seeking to bar the White House from posting official government announcements exclusively on “Truth Social” while the paid service remains in operation.

More than 10 customers have reportedly already subscribed to “Truth API”. In addition to Donald Trump’s account, the service offers access to posts from Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr., FBI Director Kash Patel, and the White House.

Donald Trump is the largest shareholder of the “Trump Media & Technology Group”, holding a 41.3% stake in the company through the “Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust”. His eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., is a director of “Trump Media” and oversees the trust.

“Trump Media” said that President Donald Trump’s posts are already disseminated through numerous platforms and news outlets, including services offering paid subscriptions. The White House has not yet commented on the lawsuit.
