ABU DHABI, July 26. /Dunyo IA/. An agreement has been signed between the UAE companies “Allied Biofuels” and “Deem Engineering” to implement a hydrogen-based biofuel production project in Uzbekistan's Khorezm region, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Project involves $6.1 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI). Construction of the plant is scheduled to take place between 2026 and 2030, with full operational capacity expected to be reached in the third quarter of 2030. Upon completion, the facility is expected to produce annually 110,000 tonnes of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), 300,000 tonnes of power-to-liquid (PtL) sustainable aviation fuel, and 5,000 tonnes of green diesel. Seventy percent of the output will be supplied to “Uzbekistan Airports”, while the remainder will be exported to the “Emirates National Oil Company” (ENOC).

Alfred Benedict, Chairman of “Allied Biofuels”, announced that the company plans to secure partial financing for the project through “BlackRock/Global Infrastructure Partners”. He also revealed that “Allied Biofuels” intends to develop the five-star “Alight Hilton Urgench” hotel in Urgench, as well as a 300-bed multi-specialty hospital under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model to serve patients from across Central Asia.

Muhammad Alfalasi, Chief Executive Officer of “DEEM Engineering”, noted that the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates has reached a new level, driven by the country's open and transparent investment climate. He emphasized that the project will contribute to the advancement of Uzbekistan's green economy and further strengthen its industrial capacity.
