Delegation of Uzbekistan participated in a meeting of senior officials on preparations for the “Central Asia – Korea” summit

• 628TASHKENT, August 1. /Dunyo IA/. The third meeting of senior officials to prepare for the summit of the Heads of state of Central Asia and the Republic of Korea was held yesterday in Astana, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
According to the MFA, the meeting brought together the Deputy Foreign Ministers of the Republic of Korea, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan, as well as the Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Astana. The delegation of Uzbekistan was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Mirvokhid Azimov.
The participants agreed on the key approaches to the substantive content of the programme and agenda of the upcoming Summit.
They also reviewed the current state and future prospects of cooperation between the Republic of Korea and the Central Asian states, reaffirming their mutual interest in further expanding cooperation in priority areas of common interest.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Deputy Foreign Minister Mirvokhid Azimov held a bilateral meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea Chun I Hae.
The sides exchanged views on current issues of Uzbekistan–Republic of Korea cooperation, discussed the schedule of upcoming events at the highest and high levels, and reviewed promising areas for the further development of bilateral cooperation.
