Newly appointed Russian Ambassador presents copies of credentials to Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs

ТASHKENT, September 17. /Dunyo IA/. Today, Uzbekistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov, received Russia's newly appointed Ambassador Alexey Yerkhov, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

"Received the copies of credentials from the newly appointed Ambassador of Russia to Uzbekistan H.E. Aleksei Erkhov, – Statement was posted by the Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan on his official telegram- channel. – We had a fruitful exchange on further strengthening our relations of strategic partnership and alliance. Look forward to close cooperation in advancing our bilateral agenda and expanding collaboration across all areas.

Wish Mr. Ambassador every success in his important diplomatic mission and a productive tenure in Uzbekistan!".

New Russian ambassador to Tashkent is 64 years old. Graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, since 1983 worked in diplomatic service, including in Morocco, Egypt, Israel, Turkey, and in the central office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 2017 to 2025, he served as the Ambassador of Russia to Turkey.

He speaks Arabic, English, and French.

He holds the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.

Alexey Yerkhov replaced Oleg Malginov, who headed the embassy in Tashkent from 2021 to 2025.
