MADRID, July 11. /Dunyo IA/. Carlos Uriarte Sánchez, Secretary-General of Paneuropa España and a professor of law at Rey Juan Carlos University in Madrid, shared with Dunyo IA his views on the outcomes of the official visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Belarus on July 8–9:
— I have reviewed the outcomes of the official visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Belarus. I am convinced that the agreements reached are truly of historic significance and open a new chapter in the development of Uzbekistan-Belarus relations.
I would particularly like to highlight the signing of the Declaration on the Establishment of a Strategic Partnership. In my view, this is not merely a political document, but a solid foundation for long-term cooperation based on mutual trust, respect, and a shared commitment to development.
I am sincerely impressed by the scale of the preparatory work carried out ahead of the visit. The meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission, the Business Council, the Regional Forums, political consultations, Culture Days, and expert discussions demonstrate a systematic and well-considered approach to strengthening bilateral relations.
I also highly appreciate the strong focus on economic cooperation. Plans to increase bilateral trade to 2 billion dollars, expand industrial cooperation, and develop collaboration in agriculture, mechanical engineering, pharmaceuticals, electrical engineering, the textile industry, and other sectors provide a solid foundation for sustainable economic growth and create new business opportunities for both countries.
I believe the decision to study and apply Belarus’ experience in the peaceful use of nuclear energy and the development of related infrastructure is both important and forward-looking. This reflects Uzbekistan’s commitment to adopting advanced technologies and ensuring the country's long-term energy development.
Equally significant is the strengthening of humanitarian cooperation. Expanding ties in culture, education, science, healthcare, social protection, tourism, and youth exchanges will help deepen friendship between the peoples of the two countries and foster lasting human connections for years to come.
The signing of a broad package of bilateral agreements and memorandums covering virtually all key areas of cooperation also deserves special recognition. This confirms the seriousness of both sides’ intentions and their readiness to translate the strategic partnership into concrete practical results.
I highly value the atmosphere of mutual respect, constructive dialogue, and trust in which the talks were held. Such an approach enables the adoption of decisions that serve the long-term interests of both states and the well-being of their citizens.
I sincerely support the ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation between Uzbekistan and Belarus. I am confident that all the agreements reached will be successfully implemented and that the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Belarus will continue to deepen, serving as an example of mutually beneficial, trust-based, and constructive cooperation.”
