Attitude from Dushanbe: Uzbekistan is building the architecture of a New Economic Space in Eurasia

DUSHANBE, July 10. /Dunyo IA/. Viktor Kim, a research fellow at the Institute of Philosophy, Political Science and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, commented for Dunyo IA on the outcomes of the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Belarus on July 8–9:

-  In the contemporary geo-economic agenda, Uzbekistan demonstrates a qualitative transition from the traditional model of foreign relations to a strategy of active state projecting.

The recent visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Georgia and the subsequent visit to Belarus on July 8–9 are not isolated diplomatic visits, but rather synchronized steps toward creating a new economic framework, where each partner plays its respective role within a unified industrial and logistics system.

Visit to Georgia must be viewed as the foundation of this strategy, serving as an “architectural unblocking”. By securing direct access to the Caucasian transit corridor and Black Sea ports, Uzbekistan has created a vital logistical framework, transforming the country from a “peripheral link” into an active participant in global supply chains connecting Central Asia with European markets.

The key chord consolidating this structure was the visit of the Head of Uzbekistan to Belarus and the signing of the Declaration on Strategic Partnership. Bilateral relations have now been shifted from the plane of current trade into the format of a long-term geopolitical alliance. This forecast is supported by figures: mutual trade in 2025 grew by 25 percent, and over the first quarter of 2026 - already by almost 50 percent

The projected trade turnover of 1 billion dollars this year is planned to double by 2030. Belarus is not just a well-developed industry, pharmaceuticals, and digitalization of public administration. It represents high technologies in the field of mechanical engineering and nuclear energy. These are excellent tools for the accelerated industrialization of the country. Belarus is a reliable technological partner for Uzbekistan.

The synthesis of these directions leads to the conclusion that Uzbekistan has reached a promising level of managing long-term interregional processes. Uzbekistan is deliberately shaping new rules of the game, independently determining which transport corridors and technologies will become the supporting structures of its development until 2030. Such a combination of transport accessibility, political will, and manufacturing depth allows us to assert that Uzbekistan, as a projecting entity, is building the architecture of a new economic space in Eurasia.
