A view from South Korea: The signing of contracts worth $3.5 billion following the business forum in Kazan will be one of the driving forces for strengthening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Russia

SEOUL, October 10. /IA "Dunyo"/. Chairman-publisher of "The Korea Post" magazine Lee Kyung-sik commented for "Dunyo" information agency on the results of the official visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Russia on October 5-7:

- Uzbek-Russian relations are distinguished by their intensity in all areas. Both sides attach particular importance to their further deepening.

The official visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Russia is a continuation of the course towards developing the already established dialogue between the two countries and marks a qualitatively new stage in these relations.

The main results, in my opinion, were the start of supplies of Russian natural gas to Uzbekistan through the territory of Kazakhstan.

Indeed, the launched import of Russian gas in reverse mode is of strategic importance for Uzbekistan.

During the visit, a substantial package of documents was signed, in particular, in the presence of heads of state, 10 documents adopted between the governments and ministries of the two countries were exchanged. These agreements will help deepen practical cooperation in a number of promising areas of interaction between Uzbekistan and Russia.

In addition, following the results of the third Forum of Interregional Cooperation held in Kazan on October 4, agreements and contracts worth $3.5 billion were signed. This will undoubtedly become one of the driving forces for strengthening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Russia.
