Ambassador of Uzbekistan presents credentials to the President of Greece

ATHENS, November 21. /Dunyo IA/. Abat Fayzullaev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Greece (resident in Rome), today presented his letters of credence to the President of this country, Konstantinos Tasoulas, marking a significant milestone in bilateral relations, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the ceremony, the President of the Hellenic Republic warmly congratulated the newly appointed ambassadors and wished them every success in their forthcoming duties. He also expressed confidence that they would make a meaningful contribution to the further development of both bilateral and multilateral relations.
In a brief bilateral conversation following the credential-presentation ceremony, the President of the Hellenic Republic noted that, amid escalating geopolitical tensions worldwide, the balanced and forward-looking diplomacy pursued by Uzbekistan’s leadership is making a significant contribution to strengthening regional stability and fostering international trust.
The Head of State also emphasized that bilateral relations with Uzbekistan have entered a new stage, noting that fresh opportunities are emerging to further expand political, economic and cultural ties between the two countries.
It should be recalled that since November 2023, Abat Fayzullaev has held the position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Italy, as well as Permanent Representative to the UN institutions based in Rome — notably the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC)."
Since December 2024, he has served as Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Cyprus, from February 2025 as Ambassador to Malta, and since March of this year as Ambassador to San Marino.
