A view from Japan: Uzbekistan and France have every opportunity to take mutually beneficial relations to a new level

TOKYO, November 4. /IA "Dunyo"/. Director of the Research Institute for Central Asian and Caucasus Studies of Japan, Tetsuji Tanaka, commented for "Dunyo" information agency on the results of the official visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Uzbekistan on November 1-2:

- The visit can be called historical. The results of economic and social reforms implemented in Uzbekistan in recent years created the basis for organizing the visit of the French leader to Uzbekistan.

France is one of the leading EU states, as well as a permanent member of the UN Security Council. In this regard, the development of cooperation between Uzbekistan, which is a key state in Central Asia, meets the interests of both Tashkent and Paris.

Thanks to the efforts of the leaders of Uzbekistan and France, political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries has been developing dynamically in recent years. Both parties have every opportunity to take mutually beneficial relations to a new level.

In the context of an unstable and changing geopolitical situation in the world, countries pay great attention to ensuring their energy and food security.

In this regard, the fact that the leaders of the two countries discussed issues of cooperation in the areas of green energy, extraction and processing of raw materials, innovative agriculture, water supply, logistics, and infrastructure development indicates that the negotiations were constructive and meaningful.

The signed solid package of documents is intended to raise Uzbek-French cooperation to a higher level in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
