TASHKENT, August 14. /IA "Dunyo"/. The joint operational-tactical special exercise "Kanzhar-2023" was held at the Oimasha training ground in the Mangistau region of Kazakhstan, a Dunyo news agency correspondent reports.

According to the Uzbek Defense Ministry, the active phase of the exercise was observed by the defense ministers of the two countries, Lieutenant General Bakhodir Kurbanov and Colonel General Ruslan Zhaksylykov.

The first stage in the form of a computer command and staff exercise was held in Uzbekistan in early August this year. At the second stage, practical actions were practiced both during the day and at night on the basis of the Oymash training ground of the Aktau garrison in natural and climatic conditions, complicated by high air temperature and dustiness.

In accordance with the training plan, the servicemen, in cooperation with the operational forces and means, began actions to destroy the mock enemy. Special forces carried out reconnaissance and search work using drones and established the whereabouts of terrorist groups.

After that, the area where the conditional enemy is located was fired upon. Special forces fought in close cooperation, using a new tactical method based on the experience of modern armed conflicts. In the course of carrying out the assigned task, the fire support group was accompanied by armored vehicles and the mock enemy was completely destroyed.

After that, the guests got acquainted with the situation in the military unit located in the city of Aktau, and watched the tactical exercises of the Navy troops to capture and attack the ship at the next destination.

In the second half of the day, according to the plan of joint exercises, the battalion-tactical groups were engaged at night, and along with the observation of joint combat operations, the decisions of the battalion commanders were heard. In particular, the tactical training of the battalion includes the performance of tasks, the use of the most modern types of weapons and military equipment, the provision of support to all-army units with the help of aviation, the conduct of special operations in mountainous and desert hard-to-reach areas, in urban areas, and exercises to escort units.

At the end of the exercise, the defense ministers highly appreciated the combat abilities of the servicemen and presented the servicemen of both countries with badges for their merits in strengthening the military commonwealth.
