RIYADH, October 22. /Dunyo IA/.   At the initiative of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Saudi Arabia, a spiritual and educational round table titled “Independence - Basis of Great Development and New Opportunities” was held with the participation of Uzbek students from the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in the city of Dammam, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Event was timed to coincide with the 35^th Anniversary of the State Independence of Uzbekistan and Uzbek Language Day. Its purpose is to strengthen the younger generation's love for the Motherland, respect for national values and historical heritage, highlight the country's achievements over the years of independence, as well as raise national identity and respect for the mother tongue among youth studying abroad.

During the “roundtable”, historical significance of independence, the choice of an independent path of development, the strengthening of the foundations of statehood, and reforms in the political, economic and social spheres were discussed. Special attention was paid to youth policy, development of education, support for gifted youth and creation of conditions for acquiring modern knowledge and professional competencies.

In connection with Uzbek Language Day, role of the mother tongue in preserving national identity, historical memory and cultural values was emphasized. Importance of fluent communication in the Uzbek language, preservation of national traditions and their worthy representation in the international arena was noted.

Participants also discussed the application of knowledge and experience gained abroad in the interests of Uzbekistan's development, the implementation of modern technologies and international experience, as well as the involvement of youth in strengthening the positive image of the country. Importance of responsibility, discipline and initiative in studies, the worthy representation of the homeland's interests and the setting of clear goals were highlighted.

Embassy familiarized itself with the living and studying conditions of the students, their daily lives, issues, and needs. Students were able to ask questions, receive clarifications on consular matters and, if necessary, request assistance from the Embassy.

As noted, event contributed to popularizing the historical significance of independence, strengthening the national identity and patriotic feelings of the youth, developing a direct dialogue with compatriots and reinforcing consular work to protect the rights and safety of students.
