ISLAMABAD, April 3. /Dunyo IA/. Ambassador of Uzbekistan Alisher Tukhtaev, along with the leadership of the Light Industry Development Agency, held online negotiations with Saeed Ullah, head of the Pakistani company “Magna Processing”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The focus was on attracting foreign investment and transferring low-profit textile enterprises in the country to the trust management of experienced foreign investors.
Uzbekistan presented the Pakistani side with large-scale reforms in the cotton-textile cluster system, as well as tax and customs incentives designed for deep raw material processing. The cooperation potential is vast: by the end of 2025 alone, the volume of Uzbek textile exports to Pakistan reached USD 21.5 million and both parties intend to increase these figures.
Saeed Ullah showed particular interest in creating joint ventures for ready-made garment production under international brands. Uzbekistan expressed its readiness to transfer manufacturing facilities to the management of Pakistani partners, providing detailed data on their financial status and modernization needs.
The head of Magna Processing noted that the company's specialists have already studied Uzbekistan’s economic climate in detail and see great prospects.
Pakistani investors plan not only to supply yarn and fabrics to their domestic market but also to leverage their experience with European retailers to bring products manufactured in Uzbekistan to European markets under joint brands.
