CAIRO, January 17. /Dunyo IA/ The Embassy of Uzbekistan organized an online meeting featuring Ulfat Gurab, the head of the prominent Egyptian pharmaceutical group "ACDIMA," along with representatives from several companies within the group and officials from the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry of Uzbekistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meeting, the outcomes of the company delegation's working visit to Uzbekistan, which took place from December 23 to 25, 2024, were discussed. This included the agreements reached with the Uzbek side and potential areas for cooperation. The participants also exchanged perspectives on the registration of the company’s pharmaceutical products in Uzbekistan, entry into the local pharmaceutical market, and the legal and organizational aspects of establishing business operations.
The Egyptian side reported that, according to an analysis of Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical market, 55 types of medicines, valued at $1 billion, are imported into the country annually. The majority of these medicines are produced by the "ACDIMA" group in Egypt, and their prices are lower compared to those of other foreign pharmaceutical companies. It was highlighted that a potential joint project with the Egyptian company could lead to a significant reduction in prices (by 30-35%) for these medicines.
In order to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, implement joint projects, register the company’s products, and address other relevant matters, an agreement was reached to organize a visit by the company’s working group to Uzbekistan from February 10 to 15 of this year.
