TOKYO, August 14. /Dunyo IA/.  A meeting was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan with Koichi Inoue, Executive Managing Director of the Japan Food Machinery Manufacturers' Association (FOOMA), reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Meeting was dedicated to expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation between the two countries, particularly to attracting advanced Japanese technologies to the food industry and agricultural product processing.

FOOMA unites leading Japanese companies that manufacture food machinery and processing equipment.

The sides discussed the possibilities of introducing Japanese technologies for the processing, storage and packaging of agricultural products, as well as reducing losses and manufacturing high-value-added products.

Koichi Inoue noted that the economic reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan and the new business opportunities represent significant interest for Japanese companies.

Following the outcomes of the meeting, the sides agreed to expand practical contacts with FOOMA member companies, organize B2B meetings within the framework of the Tashkent region delegation's visit to Japan planned for late October, conduct an online seminar on Uzbekistan's investment opportunities for Japanese business, and continue working on the creation of financial mechanisms to attract modern Japanese equipment.
